Amongst animals sex is mostly ruthless, competitive and promiscuous, and these behaviours are natural to human beings too.  But we are also capable of faithful, More... undying and transcendental love.  How are we to explain this paradox ?

We developed from organic objects into personal subjects through our identification with our parents in infancy. Sexual love is the continuation and development of that profound transformation. Problem: most of us have become almost completely cut off from the imaginative world of childhood.

Fortunately, artists are its survivors, and through their works we too can more easily make contact with our forgotten origins.
